,
Our goal is to produce healthy, friendly Nigerian Dwarf Goats that have great conformation, produce lots of milk.
Our purebred Nigerian Dwarf Goats are registered with the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA), and some are also registered with American Goat Society (AGS).
Our herd tested negative for CAE, CL, and Johnes in 2016, 2017, and 2020/2021. For biosecurity reasons, we choose to maintain a "closed herd", meaning we do not bring in goats from other farms for breeding nor do we take our goats to shows (even though our goats have show-quality bloodlines).
We try to keep our herd size small, usually around 15--20 goats. It is important to us, that we know each of our goats’ personality, health, and behavior. Even though they are farm animals, our goats aren’t just livestock; we treat them almost like members of our family, and give them lots of love and attention. All of our goat kids are dam-raised, the way nature intended. Even though we believe this is the healthiest way to raise our kids, we occasionally bottle feed, but only when absolutely necessary.
We hope to participate in DHIR testing and linear appraisal in the near future.
Here on our homestead, we raise our goats as naturally/holistically as possible, focusing on the use of good nutrition, herbs, homeopathy, and essential oils for optimal health. Occasionally, we will use conventional drugs/medicine/wormers, but we usually don't resort to those unless absolutely necessary.
If you are interested in visiting our goats, please send us an email, or send us a message on our Facebook page.
Thanks!!
